birdland are formed by brothers robert (vocals) and lee vincent (guitar), along with syd rogers (bass) and gene kale (drums)
all the band members with the exception of syd rogers had previously played in zodiac motel, who had recorded one seven inch and two twelve inch singles, sunshine miner and crystal injection and an album, the story of roland flagg, before collapsing in 1987
